Financial Performance Overview

Vintage Coffee delivered a strong financial performance in FY26, characterized by high volume growth following the commissioning of expanded capacities. The consolidated revenue for the year stood at ₹553.1 crore, nearly doubling from the previous year. EBITDA growth outpaced revenue growth, rising 88.1% to ₹99.6 crore, reflecting the impact of operating leverage.

Profit after tax also saw a significant jump of 79.8% to reach ₹72.2 crore. The company reported that its operating cash flow remained positive throughout the year, aided by disciplined working capital cycles and efficient inventory management.

Strategic Expansion and Capex

A central theme of the earnings call was the company's next phase of growth involving freeze-dried coffee. Management has earmarked ₹550 crore for a new 5,500 MT facility, which is expected to be completed by Q2 FY28. This move targets the higher value-added segment of the instant coffee market.

To finance this, the company plans to utilize ₹150 crore of internal accruals and raise approximately ₹400 crore in additional debt. The expansion follows the successful scale-up of the spray-dried and agglomerated coffee capacity to 11,000 MT earlier this fiscal year.

Market Reach and Product Mix

The company has diversified its sales across several global regions, including Africa (31%), CIS and Russia (22%), Southeast Asia (22%), and the Americas and Europe (18%). Management noted that the product mix is increasingly shifting toward consumer packs and premium agglomerated coffee, which now account for a larger share of realizations. By FY27, the company aims for consumer packs to constitute 60% of the total mix, up from the current levels.

This shift is part of a broader strategy to move away from bulk trading toward higher-margin retail and branded segments.

Industry Dynamics and Pricing

Despite fluctuations in global green coffee bean prices, Vintage Coffee has protected its margins through a cost-plus pricing model. Management highlighted that while packaging material costs saw a slight increase due to geopolitical factors, these were largely passed on to customers. The global instant coffee market remains robust, with a total production of roughly 10 lakh tonnes.

Vintage Coffee aims to capture a larger portion of the incremental global demand, which is growing at approximately 30,000 tonnes annually, by leveraging its expanded manufacturing footprint in India.

What to Watch

  • Utilization levels of the newly expanded 11,000 MT capacity in FY27
  • Timeline and execution of the ₹550 crore freeze-dried coffee project
  • Impact of the proposed ₹400 crore debt on the company's interest obligations
  • Successful transition of product mix toward 60% consumer-packed goods
  • Export demand stability across CIS and European markets amidst geopolitical shifts

Management Perspective

The expanded capacity is now fully operational from Q1 FY27 and positions the company to support future growth while improving operating leverage.
