Operational Performance and Revenue Growth

Bansal Wire Industries Limited demonstrated robust growth in the second quarter of FY27, with consolidated revenue from operations hitting ₹1,308 crore. This represents a 24% increase over the ₹1,055 crore reported in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. Sequentially, the company saw a 12% improvement in top-line performance from the June 2026 quarter.

This growth was mirrored in the profit before tax, which climbed to ₹71.8 crore, significantly higher than the ₹26.0 crore recorded in the preceding quarter, indicating a stabilization in input costs and better realization per tonne in the steel wire segment.

Margin Recovery and Cost Efficiency

The company’s operating margin saw a notable recovery, reaching 5.5% in Q2 FY27 compared to a low of 2.2% in Q1 FY27. This expansion was driven by controlled raw material expenses, which stood at ₹1,027.78 crore on a consolidated basis for the quarter. While finance costs rose slightly to ₹17.73 crore from ₹15.47 crore in the previous quarter, the overall operational leverage helped the company achieve a net profit of ₹52.9 crore.

The effective tax rate for the quarter remained stable, with a total tax expense of ₹18.91 crore against a pre-tax profit of ₹71.82 crore.

Strategic Developments and Share Split

  • The Board of Directors approved a share split of equity shares from ₹5 face value to ₹1 face value, which became effective in October 2026
  • The company operates two wholly-owned subsidiaries: Bansal Steel & Power Limited and BWI Steel Private Limited
  • A rolling committed customer order book of 30–40 days is maintained under a cost-plus pricing mechanism to mitigate raw material price volatility
  • Standalone revenue for the quarter contributed ₹1,276.25 crore to the total consolidated top-line of ₹1,308 crore
  • The Rs 600 crore Sanand greenfield facility in Gujarat remains on track for its scheduled commissioning
